Art of Writing
If there is something i have come to realize is that writing is something that requires resilience and dedication. Trying to write an 80,000- word manuscript is no small feat. It requires a strong will, sacrifices, patience and determination. It is easy to give up along the way; only to start again then give up again. In the end you have spent an year writing only five thousands words.
I have come to appreciate what it takes for a book to be published. My experience can be described with two word: procrastination and laziness. Oftentimes i would sit down to write an idea down then a strong urge to continue reading the book i started the previous day or to watch the latest movie. And the thing with writing is that ideas come to you at odd times and need to be put down before they go as quick as they came in the first place. Writing also require people ready to do research in order to produce a product that will appeal to publishers; otherwise you will only be a writer in your mind only.
I started writing eighteen months and in a whole year i ended up writing less than twenty thousands words. But then i heard a favorite author of mine describe his experiences and it dawned on me that this is not unique to. I dived into research and writing and i can happily say that i am almost done with my first draft. I know this is half the journey to be published but i can proudly say that i have tried.
Nothing can make one proud as to read the flow your ideas, to enjoy the beauty of the plot, the entertainment from the characters you have created, to relive the world you have created and beauty of the language. All out there who are writers- they know themselves- writing is like an itch which you can never ignore. Scratch the itch and dive into another world of your own.
